Boise is a city where the desert meets the mountains, located along the Boise River and nestled against the foothills of the Rockies. Boise is the capital and largest city of the State of Idaho, and is the hub of commerce, banking and government for the state. Known as the City of Trees, Boise has stunning scenery, abundant natural resources and year-round outdoor activities. Population: Boise's population was 205,671 as of the 2010 Census.

ValleyRide provides a series of bus lines for getting around town. The Boise Airport is served by Delta Air Lines, US Airways, United Airlines, Frontier Airlines, Horizon Air, and Southwest Airlines.
Travel and tourism: Some of Boise’s many attractions include cultural experiences at the Boise Art Museum, the Idaho Black History Museum, the World Center for Birds of Prey, the Basque Block and the Idaho Anne Frank Human Rights Memorial. Retirees who enjoy outdoor pursuits will appreciate the area’s natural sand dunes, mountain hot springs, open meadows, and mountain lakes where they can windsurf, jet-ski, or cast a line.
