Metropolitan Transit Authority (METRO) provides public transportation in the form of buses, light rail, and lift vans, and Amtrak serves the area with a passenger train route.

Travel and tourism: Houston prides itself on having a dynamic mix of imagination, talent and first-class attractions that makes it a world-class city. Their visitors and convention bureau promises that a retiree could spend 365 days in Houston and still not experience everything this city has to offer, from world-class museums and theaters to events, restaurants, nightlife, shopping and special offers.
