Milwaukee, located on the southern shore of Lake Michigan, is the largest city in the state of Wisconsin and the 28th most populous city in the United States. Milwaukee was settled by Germans who knew how to brew beer beginning in the 1850s, and this proud tradition continues today. Population: 594,833 as of the 2010 Census.
Climate: As part of the Great Lakes Region, Milwaukee often has rapidly changing weather conditions with cold snowy winters, and hot humid summers. It receives 33 inches of rainfall and 35 inches of snowfall each year.

Transportation:Mitchell International Airport is served by 12 airlines and many daily flights to various destinations. In 2007 Milwaukee's Amtrak station was renovated to create the Milwaukee Intermodal Station which is home to Amtrak, Greyhound, and Jefferson Lines intercity bus transportation.
Travel and tourism: Milwaukee, known as the "City of Festivals offers an array of fine ethnic dining. On Julia Childs 80th birthday she selected Milwaukee native chef Sanford D'Amato to cook for her! The city hosts events such as Summerfest, German Fest, and Festa Italiana to celebrate some of the various types of cuisine. Milwaukee has a long history of musical activity originating with the founding of the "Milwaukee Beethoven Society" in 1843, three years before the city was incorporated.
