Travel + Leisure magazine named Nashville "America's Friendliest City" in the publication's annual ranking of 30 U.S. cities in October of 2009. And of course it is world famous for its live music. Nashville is also the state capital, and the second largest city next to Memphis. It is home to the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League and the Tennessee Titans of the National Football League. Population: 626,681 with a much larger metropolitan area.

Climate: Nashville enjoys mild to cool winters, but summers are hot and humid.
