Omaha was founded in 1854 and is the largest city in the state of Nebraska. It was named the nation’s third best city to live, work and play by Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine in 2008. Omaha has a number of historic structures and districts listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Population: Omaha is the nation’s 42nd largest city with a population of 427,872.
