Salt Lake City is located in the Salt Lake Valley of northern Utah, surrounded by mountains on three sides with the Great Salt Lake to the northwest. It is the capital and largest city in Utah. Population: SLC had a population of 186,440 as of the 2010 Census and a metropolitan area of 1,124,197.
