Travel and tourism: As Mr. Lincolns Hometown, Springfield hosts visitors from all over the world who come to experience the Lincoln tradition. History buffs will enjoy the many museums and historical sites detailing the life of our nation's most beloved president. As for the arts, the list includes the Hoogland Center for the Arts, New Salem Visitor Center Theatre, Springfield Theatre Centre, the Illinois Symphony Orchestra, the Springfield Muni Opera, and theatre in the Park at New Salem.
