Strategically located approximately mid-point between New York and Washington, Wilmington is the largest city in Delaware. Like most eastern cities, Wilmington has been evolving for over 350 years. Swedish, Dutch and British have all had their influence. Wilmington has a fine collection of buildings displaying popular styles from the Revolution through late 20th century. It is often referred to as the "corporate capital of the world", and over half of the Fortune 500 companies call Wilmington their home. Population: 70,851 as of the 2010 census.

Travel and tourism: Each first Friday of the month retirees can enjoy a free self-guided tour of local art galleries, art studios, museums and alternative art spaces during Art on the Town. Wilmington has an array of first-class performing and fine arts projects and events. Retirees who are outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate Wilmington's 552 acres of picturesque parklands, including the Brandywine Zoo, jogging trails, and wooded picnic and recreation areas.
