Arkansas is home to the Ozark Mountains as well as Wal-Mart's global corporate headquarters.  Here, Bill Clinton was born and raised and honed his political skills before becoming President.  Wal-Mart's empire is run from Rogers, Arkansas and was founded by Sam Walton in 1962.  It's now the world's largest retailer.

In terms of Retirement, Arkansas is something of a hot spot although this is a somewhat new phenomenon.  Many planned retirement communities under various lifestyle arrangements are found, especially in the Ozarks area.

The capital is Little Rock and there are relaxing thermal pools at Hot Springs National Park.  The Ouachita mountains, like the Ozarks, were settled by Appalachian farmers.

Many think of retirement in Arkansas as the Ozark Mountain region but there is a lot more territory in the state and retirement planners will want to view all of the many options in the surprising state of Arkansas, USA.
