Texas State Retirement Map

Texas Retirement options are as many and varied as the big state of Texas.  Texas' state nickname is the "Lone Star State".   Second largest state in the USA, Texas is the largest of the 48 contiguous states and only Alaska is larger.  The largest *county* in Texas is bigger than the combined states of Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Delaware.

Texas is home to over 125 state parks and forests, making this an outdoor mecca for sports and leisure activities.  The state of Texas has over ninety mountains that exceed a mile in height. The tallest peak in the state is Guadalupe Peak at 8,751 feet.

Climate here may pose a challenge for some retirees.   West Texas is an arid desert, while East Texas has a climate more like that of Louisiana or Florida.

History abounds here, especially of the "old west" variety.   Here you'll find The Alamo and the battle of San Jacinto.  Texas is no stranger to the modern world too - here we find NASA as well as many major universities and leading research facilities.
